Goldthreads Studio
I’m back. Life got in my way for several months.
My Etsy shop is now up and running. Check me out at GoldthreadsStudio. Right now I have been concentrating on knitting accessories such as beautiful stitch markers.
I love all sorts of fiber and non fiber crafts. I have a wide vintage bead collections. For the past 10 years, I have been handcrafting my own vintage beads into stitch markers for my own personal use in knitting. I love the look of the vintage beads that dangling and shine on my needles. They are jewelery for my knitting.
I forgot my love of beading until recently. I knew that I made quite a lot of beaded items and some jewelry but I forgot how much pleasure and joy beading brings to my life. I have been dabbling in some bead weaving again.
Here’s a bracelet that I finished from a kit that I bought many years ago. The base of the bracelet is formed by beading weaving a herringbone pattern. I was never very good at herringbone so this base was a good challenge for me. I love how the beads almost look snake like in the pattern.
The original kit had a gold bead for embellishments. This looked good in the kit but I soon realized that the beads were smaller than the kit stated. Ugh. The beads slipped through the holes on the button which they were suppose to hold in place. Time to go stash digging!
I came up with some AB finished six 11 seed beads, a size 8 rose color bead and a very beautiful Green Swarovski crystal. Did I mention how much I LOVE crystals? I used this combination of beads for the embellish on the top of the bracelet. I like this combination much better than the plain gold beads. The AB finish on the seed needs and the Swarovski crystals really catch the light.

It’s tough to photograph these crystal on a dark spring day. I hope to get some much better pictures when the sun finally decides that it should come out to play. so, this is my morning beading report. I plan on blogging a little every couple days. I missed blogging. I will be reporting on all types of different crafts and my opinions. My old blog featured all my hikes and camping when we lived in Utah. My health issues do not allow me to hike anymore. I do plan on posting a little of everything like an emporium. A little of this and a little of that. See you on the flip side.
